Project

Correspondent Banking Partner Scouting & Engagement

Executive Summary

The client, one of the largest banks in Central Asia, sought to establish long-term correspondent banking relationship(s) with one or more U.S. and European banks in order to continue growth and global expansion of its banking practice. With limited knowledge of the U.S. and European banking sectors, the client engaged Navigate International to identify, qualify and engage relevant banks and to develop a strategic roadmap for establishing its correspondent banking business in the U.S. and Europe.

Business Challenge

The client required intelligence on the U.S. and European banking sectors, banks, and executives that would share an interest in establishing a correspondent banking relationship with a Central Asian bank. Additionally, the client needed access and representation to engage bank contacts, as well as coaching on the business practices, culture and expectations of their partner(s).

How Navigate International Helped

Leveraging an international network of banking professionals, Navigate researched, interviewed, and qualified prospective partners, advised on legal and regulatory issues, facilitated introductions, and negotiated terms for the client’s first correspondent banking relationship with a U.S. bank.

Value Delivered

Navigate provided the domain expertise, contacts, and business development services that enabled the client to quickly and effectively establish two correspondent banking relationships in the U.S.
